Description of work:

  • To deliver an assigned project on schedule, within budget and to the level of quality agreed with the customer. The project (or work package) is typically small to medium size and with small complexity and limited portfolio items
  • Professional Project Management Approach
  • Applies project management methodologies and tools based on external and/or internal standards to plan, implement and close the assigned project on a professional manner
  • Project Definition & Plan Development. Prepares a top-down, structured project definition and plan based on customer requirements, and ensures that all deliverables have clearly defined acceptance criteria and testing methods
  • Budget Management
  • Supports the preparation of and reviews the project budget, operating an accurate cost control to ensure that agreed budget is achieved by effective claim management and change control
  • Scope & Change Control. Defines and agrees an affordable scope and operates an effective change control process that allows for flexibility and adaptation to changing business needs
  • Reporting. Controls & monitors against the plan and ensures that clear and concise status reports are available to the steering board
  • Escalates issues causing deviance from agreed budget, timescales or quality
  • Team Management. Assembles and coordinates a diverse team capable of reaching the project objectives.

  • Ensures that an effective risk assessment and risk mitigation plan is in place
  • Uses the formal review procedures to manage risk and issues
  • Proactively avoid risks advises on possible solutions to resolve escalated issues
  • Meet Customer Expectations
  • Responsibility for the quality of the project through ensuring that regular quality reviews are established
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Defines the communication interface to all stakeholders
  • Includes stakeholders in project definition and ongoing decisions to ensure that expectations and project deliverables are aligned
  • Professional Development
  • Works actively on the improvement of own professional skills with the aim to grow to a certified project management role
  • Networks with and receives coaching from senior colleagues, delivers a number of not complex and low risk (sub) projects in some cases under guidance of a more senior project manager, welcomes and accepts constructive feedback
  • Gets certified in one or more external and/or internally required project management methodologies
  • (sub) Project (or work package) is delivered on time, to budget and contracted level of quality
  • Formal reviews and reports have taken place and are documented
  • Risk and quality plans are updated and agreed
  • Project has been reviewed and accepted
  • Customer satisfaction scores
