Skills and Experience:

  • Qualification at level 5 such as diploma of higher education (DipHE), foundation degree, higher national diploma (HND) in fields like maths, statistics, computer science.
  • Makes presentations and undertakes public speaking with skill and confidence.
  • Applies specialist and detailed technical expertise.
  • Develops job knowledge and expertise through continual professional development.
  • Demonstrates appropriate physical coordination and endurance, manual skill, spatial awareness and dexterity.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of different organisational departments and functions.
  • Analyses numerical data, verbal data and all other sources of information.
  • Produces workable solutions to a range of problems.
  • Complies with legal obligations and safety requirements of the role.

  • Ability to manage data interaction/deliverables between the core solution, business, data management and middleware teams.
  • Experience of using analytical tools such as SQL, ETL, SAS, R or Python.

Description of work:

  • Act as the programme data lead/interface between the core solution, business, data management, technical and middleware teams.
  • Support business and process leads with knowledge on data management best practices.
  • Facilitate data workshops and attend other workstream workshops to ensure capture of relevant data elements and inform the data model.
  • Identify the data sources within the existing tools and business units and clarify where the gaps are in the existing data, and the extent of the data cleansing and remediation required.
  • Align the data to the key data taxonomy.
  • Define a plan to mitigate/fill the gaps in the existing data and to align existing data to the taxonomy.
  • Cleanse/correct the data prior to migration to the new service management toolset.
  • Oversee the migration and correct application of the data.
  • Provide advice, guidance and support to embed data management and governance best practice.
